Bio: Arlene met Elvis in 1957 for the first time at his press conference in Chicago on March 28th. After his concert that night, he invited her to Memphis where she became a ‘fan favorite’, spending the upcoming Christmas with him and his parents. 

Arlene and her friend Rose Phillips claim to have been at Piccadilly Restaurant in Memphis, just a block from Elvis’ mansion when an ambulance raced by. They witnessed Sam Thompson and Elvis’ security chief following the ambulance. Their fears were confirmed only a short time later when Arlene received a call from Elvis’ cook, Pauline, confirming that Elvis had died. It’s presumed the two girls were one of the first in the world to know Elvis had died.
